Notice of private misconduct hearing – March 22 to 24.

A serving South Wales Police Inspector will face allegations of breaching the Standards of Professional Behaviour namely Honesty & Integrity, Duties & Responsibilities and Discreditable Conduct, at a misconduct hearing beginning on March 22.

Proceedings will be held in private as the legally qualified chair has determined that the hearing will involve issues relating to the private and family life of the officer, medical information and other matters that fall within Regulation 32 of the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2012.

It is alleged that, sometime between 2017 and 2019, the officer failed to investigate a complaint made against South Wales Police and took steps to finalise the matter without a proportionate investigation.

It has been assessed that the alleged matters individually or cumulatively amount to gross misconduct, and are so serious that dismissal would be justified if the conduct was proven or admitted.

The outcome of the hearing will be published in due course.
